Description

In the heart of downtown, the Pearl Cafe was a center of community activity in this now long gone mining town in the hills above Boise, Idaho. It is a partner structure to the Pearl Hotel. It is likely this structure was actually a drug store or general merchandise. Either might have provided a kitchen and served meals.

Information about businesses in Pearl is hazy. The town structures were built on and leased from mining claims and changed hands often. Records show locations of mining claims rather than businesses. This building appears in one photograph but a different structure sits at this location in another.

The model includes etched floor boards and ceiling as well as uncut acetate for glazing material and all figures shown.

The model does not include roofing material or landscaping: wooden shake shingles are prototypical.
